Doug Campbell is known for his work in thrillers and dramas. He has directed 54 feature films for television, which are still airing on a rotating basis and 35 of which he wrote or co-wrote. Doug also directed over 18 hours of prime-time TV and a bunch of commercials and shorts. The same producers keep hiring him again and again.
Most of his films air on Lifetime, Tubi and LMN, but he has also had his work air on CBS, HBO, Showtime, Hulu, PAX TV, MGM/UA, etc. Doug has worked in the genres of thriller and drama, sci-fi, horror, small-town-big-disaster family adventure, documentary, commercials and industrials.
Doug runs a well-organized, fun, fast-paced set, and his films are consistently on-time and on-budget. 48 of Doug's 54 films have female leads. His parents divorced when he was four, so at a very young age Doug learned the challenges single moms face as they try to make ends meet. Some of Doug's earliest memories are listening to his mom and her friends sitting around the kitchen table, complaining about the men in their lives. With this background, it's no wonder Doug gravitated toward telling women's stories for the Lifetime audience.
Word on the street is that his Lifetime, TUBI and HULU movies are starting to gain a small cult following, and loyal reviewers are continually digging the villains he creates, the plot twists, and the "cry-your-eyes-out" moments -- and these same reviewers are starting to classify Doug's films as the "Doug Campbell Perverse Universe."
