MEL RODRIGUEZ III

Mel Rodriguez III is an award-winning Mexican-American filmmaker (fluent in Spanish) based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Texas, Rodriguez began working on independent films in Austin as a film editor.
He continued editing indie features after moving to Los Angeles and a film Rodriguez edited won the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for documentary (WE LIVE IN PUBLIC).
The following year, Rodriguez founded FOREIGN + DOMESTIC Media, a digital agency/production company where he turned to directing commercials and brand films for top agencies and global brands such as Toyota, Google, Wells Fargo, American Express and more.
After a successful run of directing commercial content, Rodriguez made his directorial debut with the independent feature film, IN STEREO starring Beau Garrett (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Firefly Lane) and Mario Cantone (Sex And The City).
Rodriguez earned a coveted spot as a fellow with the Sony Diverse Director Program for episodic television directing and was also accepted into the Sundance Director Lab.
Recently, Rodriguez had the opportunity to work in political media and strategy with ACRONYM, and its affiliated superPAC, PACRONYM, which helped elect 65 candidates across the country with new tech and digital-first strategies to register and turn out voters.
Currently, Rodriguez is prepping to direct his second feature, the twisty crime thriller, INTERFERENCE with producer Jamie R. Thompson (Old Henry).
